察人入微的宝钗
《蒋勋说红楼梦》（160）
一、《红楼梦》很有趣，几乎每个人都想把事情搞清楚，各自都有一些私密之事，可是这个私密往往很快就能被别人知道。
1. "Dream of the Red Chamber" is fascinating in that almost everyone tries to figure things out, and each has their own secrets. Yet these secrets often become known to others very quickly.
二、宝玉跟黛玉之间刚刚发生了惊心动魄的一幕，肯定没有心情应付宝钗，所以宝钗说他“越发没了经纬”。
2. Baoyu and Daiyu had just experienced a heart-stopping scene, leaving him in no mood to deal with Baochai. That's why Baochai said he "increasingly lacked warp and woof."
三、“经纬”是织布时的纵线和横线，是有秩序的。她的意思是说，宝玉最近说话怎么总是有一搭没一搭，没头没脑的。
3. "Warp and woof" refer to the longitudinal and transverse threads in weaving, which represent order. She meant that Baoyu's speech had recently become disjointed and incoherent.
四、宝钗笑着说：“这个客也没意思，这么热天，不在家里凉快，还跑些什么！”宝钗批评别人大热天还到处乱跑，全忘了自己也正在乱跑。细读的话，能体会到作者此处细微的讽刺。
4. Baochai said with a smile: "This guest is quite pointless. On such a hot day, instead of staying cool at home, they're running about!" Baochai criticized others for running around in the heat, completely forgetting that she herself was doing the same. A close reading reveals the author's subtle irony here.
五、宝钗是多么善于察言观色，是她第一个看出“云丫头在家里竟一点儿作不得主”，贾府里没有一个人知情，连贾母都不知道。
5. How perceptive Baochai was—she was the first to notice that "Sister Yun actually has no say at home." No one else in the Jia household was aware of this, not even Grandmother Jia.
