《世界名著全知道》(九十六)
一、1892年,豪普特曼发表以织工和工场主斗争为主题的剧本《织工》,这剧所展示的不再是传统的家庭冲突,而是尖锐的不可调和的社会矛盾,受苦受难并奋起抗争的劳动群众形象直接搬上舞台,这是19世纪40年代以后德语文学中的第一次。
1. In 1892, Hauptmann published the play "The Weavers" with the theme of the struggle between weavers and factory owners. This play no longer showcased traditional family conflicts but sharp, irreconcilable social contradictions. It directly portrayed the images of suffering and rebelling laboring masses on stage, which was the first time in German literature since the 1840s.

2. Maurice Maeterlinck's "Pelléas and Mélisande" is a mysterious symbolist masterpiece, considered the highest achievement in the various attempts at poetic drama in the 19th century.
