曹雪芹怀念富贵的青春
一、《红楼梦》中的很多词汇细读会觉得非常有趣，“交割”这个词很难用到黛玉身上。林黛玉总是那么纠缠，总觉得有解不开的东西，就是因为有真情在，你没有办法用理性来处理。
1. Many words in "Dream of the Red Chamber" become very interesting upon close reading. The term "settle matters cleanly" can hardly be applied to Daiyu. Lin Daiyu is always so entangled, always feeling there are things that cannot be resolved, precisely because true feelings are involved—you cannot handle them with rationality.
二、如果是宝钗就可以马上“交割”清楚，一个人没有真情的时候其实就是“交割”，在每件事情上衡量轻重，人与人之间只是利害关系，这样的人生大概也蛮可怕的。

When a person lacks genuine feelings, that is essentially what "settling cleanly" means—weighing the pros and cons in every matter, where relationships between people are merely about gain and loss. Such a life is probably quite dreadful.
三、宝玉挨打事件让我们看到一种很奇特的亲子关系，王夫人赶到现场后，劝阻丈夫的理由并不是宝玉不该打，而是一个让人吃惊的理由：我如今只剩一个宝玉了，你打死他，我将来靠谁？可见大人在教育孩子的过程中，都是有私心的。
3. The incident of Baoyu being beaten reveals a very peculiar parent-child relationship. When Lady Wang rushed to the scene, her reason for stopping her husband was not that Baoyu shouldn't be beaten, but a surprising one: "He is the only one I have left now. If you beat him to death, who will I rely on in the future?" This shows that adults act with self-interest when educating their children.
四、“葳葳蕤蕤”一般是讲植物很蓬勃地生长，有在风里摇摆的意思。而宝玉父亲是形容宝玉躲躲闪闪、无所用心的那种感觉。
4. "Lush and flourishing" generally describes plants growing vigorously, with a sense of swaying in the wind. But Baoyu's father used it to describe Baoyu's evasive, distracted demeanor.
五、《红楼梦》是曹雪芹对青春的眷恋，宝玉（曹）喜欢的是少年的单纯，这是他跟父亲之间的最大冲突。还有一个原因可能是曹雪芹怀念富贵的生活。
5. "Dream of the Red Chamber" is Cao Xueqin's lingering attachment to youth. Baoyu (Cao) cherished the innocence of adolescence, which was the greatest source of conflict with his father. Another reason might be Cao Xueqin's nostalgia for a life of wealth and luxury.
