金钏儿的刚烈
一、儒家社会里的道德评价是比法律还严厉的，所有人都会对她指指点点，以致整个社会都封锁她，造成的压力超乎我们的想象，会弄得她没有办法活下去。
1. In Confucian society, moral judgment is stricter than the law. Everyone would point fingers at her, leading to her being ostracized by the entire society. The pressure this created is beyond our imagination and would make it impossible for her to go on living.
二、金钏儿的死当然是个悲剧，原本是宝玉先去逗她的，她的分寸拿捏得也很好，可是王夫人这个做母亲的从不觉得自己儿子有什么不对，所以最后打的不是宝玉而是金钏儿。
2. Jinchuan's death was, of course, a tragedy. It was Baoyu who initiated the teasing, and she actually handled the boundaries quite properly. But Lady Wang, as a mother, never saw any fault in her son. Consequently, the one who ended up being punished was not Baoyu, but Jinchuan.
三、金钏儿个性刚烈，觉得自己蒙受了不白之冤，就选择了我干脆死给你们看！她的死变成了一个弱者最后的也是唯一的批判，而且她选择了贾府东南角上的井去跳，有点儿以死抗争的意思。
3. Jinchuan had a resolute and unyielding character. Feeling she had suffered a grievous injustice, she chose to die to prove her point—"I'll show you by dying!" Her death became the final and only form of protest available to a person in her powerless position. Furthermore, by choosing to jump into the well at the southeastern corner of the Jia residence, her act carried a tone of defiant resistance.
四、宝钗跟袭人对金钏儿的死的反应不一样，宝钗只是觉得奇怪，好端端的为什么要自杀？
4. Baochai and Xiren reacted differently to Jinchuan's death. Baochai merely found it strange, wondering why someone who seemed fine would choose to take her own life.
五、袭人对金钏儿的遭遇感同身受，明白丫头一旦被侮辱意味着什么，她的流泪实际上是同病相怜，觉得金钏儿的命运很可能也是自己的命运。
5. Xiren, however, felt a deep empathy for Jinchuan's plight. She understood what it meant for a maid to be insulted in such a way. Her tears were actually tears of shared suffering, born from the fear that Jinchuan's fate could very well have been her own.
